1998 Carlstrom Beerdie Champions

The Hunters - Dan Murdzek and Bob Klobukowski

Dan's great hands and his "never miss the table" toss carried this team through the brackets. Dan had some success in 1997, but the team lacked the heart and desire to reach the promise land. Bob brought those qualitites to the table this year. Never before had a rookie taken to Beerdie like Bob did. There is reason to believe that Bob's keen eye for squirrel hunting helps with his pinpoint accuracy for the cup. Not one sink in the tournament, but they still walk away with the trophies.

1998 Carlstrom Beerdie Runner-up

The Outsiders - Chris Bourdon and Ryan Crist

Coming into this year's tournament Chris had a tremendous amount of pressure on his shoulders because he was known as the "founder" of beerdie to many. Chris brought along his cousin, Ryan, to show everyone how beerdie is played. With their unorthodox/illegal throwing styles and tremendous hands on the defensive side, the Outsiders made their way out of the losers' bracket and into the finals. Beating the Hunters in the first matchup to force a do or die finale made for an exciting finish to this year's tournament.

1998 Carlstrom Beerdie 3rd Place

Point-N-Shoot - Drew Ferrillo and Heather Lisitano

1 of the 2 co-ed teams in the field of 20 and the most dangerous. Nobody wanted to face Point-N-Shoot this past tournament. Heather's clutch sinks and Drew's soft hands helped the team march through the winners' bracket. Their first stumble was to the eventual champs in the winners' semi-final game. Both of their stomachs started to give during the semi-finals causing them to forfeit the losers' semi-final game. Heather thought "2 and we're out.", but fate told a different story.

1998 Carlstrom Beerdie Dead Eye Dick

Puss Boys - Jaime Hine

5 sinks in only 4 games to take home the trophy. That sinks to games ratio is almost as good as Mark McGwire's HR ratio. Jaime's line it up and chuck toss was the biggest reason for the team's two wins. If Jaime's partner carried his own weight this team could have been a contender.

1998 Carlstrom Beerdie Rookie of the Year

The Hunters - Bob Klobukowski

After only learning the game the weekend before, Bob showed up thinking he was playing with Chris Bourdon ("The Founding Father of Beerdie") When Chris brought a partner and Dan needed one, I saw it as a perfect match. Little did I know they would take it all. Bob's enthusiasm, heart, and precision tossing helped lead his team to victory thus making him the Rookie of the Year.
